bath & body works [fall haul + coupon breakdown] and goodwill

I got wind of a B&BW sale this weekend and just couldn't hold back. I have had a few 3 wick candles in my online shopping cart for a while now, but I would not allow myself to purchase unless they were <$10 (the price they were when I first started buying their candles about 4 or so years ago). I can practically hear my mom rolling her eyes about my ever-expanding candle collection (hi mom!) but I just can't resist a good deal on these smells! I can't!

I ended up getting a bunch! Keep reading to see how I spaced out my purchase to get the maximum savings...

I went with my boyfriend, so we did 2 transactions. It was busy when we went, but I've had previous experiences where they will let one person do more than one transaction if they are not busy. Your mileage may vary depending on your store, but keep in mind these coupons are best if you split up transactions when buying more :)

In transaction 1 (subtotal of $20.50) I had:
  • 2 x 3 wick candles
    • 2/$24 3-wick candles
  • 5 x PocketBacs
    • 5/$6 PocketBacks
  • 1 x PocketBac holder
They changed their PocketBacs recently so I decided to get a new holder with mine (and also my bag with my previous one had been stolen on vacation this summer).

In this transaction, the items came out to:
  • $8.05 per 3-wick candle
  • $.81 per PocketBac
  • $.34 for the PocketBac holder

As for transaction 2, I had:
  • 2 x 3-wick candles
    • 2/$24 3-wick candles
  • 4 x foaming hand soaps
    • 4/$18 hand soaps
So in this transaction, we got the items for the following price:
  • $9.14 per 3-wick candle
  • $3.43 per hand soap

Overall, I got my favorite candles (in some new scents!) for $8.60 per candle. That's almost 62% off each candle! I was going to use my 20% off coupon, but even after the 2/$24 sale I would have only gotten them down to $9.60, which is still a dollar more than this sale price.

If you enjoy Bath & Body Works' smells, hurry to their store (or website) because this code is only good until the 12th. I've attached the $10 off of $30 below, however if you miss this the 20% off code is F158294.

In addition to all of this (and kind of just as a side note) I found a few adorable home decor items at Goodwill, too! I got this precious tin "Noel" platter for a mere $1, which I think will get plenty of use when hosting & serving baked goods.

I was thinking ahead when at Goodwill and found these great candle holders that are holiday themed too. One is plain red and will be used far beyond December (our living room has red, yellow, and teal colors throughout) and the other is very similar to the plaid decor I've been eyeing at Target (but without that absurd price tag).

Hope you all have a wonderful kick off to fall! I'm looking forward to decorating for the season--once it starts feeling like "fall" around this sunshine state.

Happy shopping!

PS: As a "welcome back" from me to you, enjoy this printable I made for the fall season (lyrics are from this song)
